pregnancy update at 24 weeks
i am almost at the end of second trimester. sometimes i can't believe that i've been through a lot -- the morning/evening sickness, the weird cravings and all. thankfully, based on my pregnancy calendar, this week is the stage of viability -- the ability of the fetus to survive, with or without medical help, outside of the mother's womb. meaning my baby is really growing and getting stronger :) i've already gained almost two kilos and having some backaches during night time. i can also feel the quickening (baby's movement) as it's becomes so frequent especially after dinner. probably that's the indication that this kid enjoys munching too, hehe. we have also completed the childbirth education course, we learned a lot of stuff there.
tonton and i have started baby shopping. last weekend, we got a bassinet and a steelcraft rocker from baby bunting. we are also planning to invite my parents to come over by august 'cause we really need somebody to help us before the baby comes and after i gave birth as well. we are anticipating bunch of errands by that time, i'm sure kaka-stress yun. we also intend to have a second session of ultrasound (come july or august) just to give us the final assurance of our baby's gender 'cause we are still having hard time which color to pick from the baby stuff in the shops.
at this stage, the thoughts of labour are entering my mind. i'm not sure yet whether i'll be including pain relieving method in my birth plan or not. honestly, i really wanna feel how painful the labour can be, as it would make you appreciate the "motherhood experience" even more. well, we still keep the prayer we have since day one -- have a healthy & normal bub. and despite everything, i love being pregnant! :)
